Bottle Fly Casters
 
Bottle flies are a perfect live food for mantises and other predatory insects/spiders. Simply place the pot of casters in a cool environment, a refrigerator is perfect.  Take the casters out as and when needed and put in a ventilated container in a warm place (we use old waxworm pots). The number of casters will vary depending on how many mouths you intend to feed, just make sure you allow a few extra just in case some don't hatch.
 
After around 3 or 4 days, your flies will start to hatch. You can put them back in a fridge briefly to slow them down and make it easier to feed your inverts.
 
We currently stock small and large pots. Small pots contain approximately 120 casters and the large pots contain approximately 250 casters.
