This species is an arboreal, Old World tarantula, requiring a taller enclosure and plenty of tree bark. They are a stunning black/purple with a light yellow carapace. As they are an Old World species, they lack urticating hairs and may resort to aggressive behaviour should they feel threatened. 
 
This is a popular, easy to care for tarantula. But, being Old World, may be more suited to more advanced tarantula keepers.
